Sexism in the Video Game World

This week, I watched a couple of TED talks, which were lectures on certain topics focused on sexism in video games.

The main idea of this talk is that video games more target the male audience than they do the female audience.

One example the person speaking gives is the sound of which the characters make. One idea that I found

interesting was sexism in video games in general. I thought it was interesting because it made me think about

how video games are preceded by someone who isn't a guy.

It made me wonder about sexism in the video game world, so I looked up some more information about this idea.

On the website The New York Times, I found more information about sexism in the gaming world one piece

of information I found was in June of this year 70 people came out against the different streamers, and the community,

speaking about the harassment and sexism they’ve experienced in the Twitch community. This has lead to other streamers

getting called out on their sexism/harassment in the community. This has even lead to another streamer getting their

sponsors taken away after accusations have come out against them. But this shows that the video game community can

be extremely biased towards their male audience.

  1. Mattais, you have a good start, but you could be more specific to both the TED Talk you watched and the information you found in your research. The post is pretty brief and doesn't fully develop your ideas about the issue.

Don't forget a citation for your images.
